The Mediterranean is never still. 

One moment the sea is calm. Minutes later, the wind shifts, the sails fill and the entire landscape transforms. Where the Wind Turns is inspired by this constant dialogue between wind, water and light, capturing the ever-changing rhythms of the Mediterranean through a minimalist, graphic language.

It's also inspired by my lifelong fascination with sailboats, both visually and symbolically. Against the vast blue of the sea, their white sails catch and reflect the light; masts become lines, sails become angles, and boats become almost pure geometry. There is something endlessly beautiful to me in the contrast between their graphic simplicity and the organic movement of water and wind.

But sailing also represents something deeper: freedom, adventure, endless possibility and perhaps the closest we ever come to infinity—moving towards distant horizons and into the unknown. My own sailing experiences have so far been anything but smooth sailing, which may be precisely why the metaphor resonates. A sail does not resist changing conditions; it responds to them. It adapts to shifting winds, seasons and circumstances while retaining its essential form.

Rather than depicting one specific place, Where the Wind Turns distills years of lived experience along the Mediterranean coast alongside this more symbolic relationship with sailing. Strong horizontals meet sweeping curves; crisp geometry meets expressive movement; the structure of the sailboats sits against the fluidity of sea, land and sky. The landscape feels at once familiar and imagined.
