Morning Rollerblade Views, Nice
Morning Rollerblade Views was inspired by my daily rollerblades along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice during winter and early spring—my favourite time of year on the Côte d'Azur. The dramatic Mediterranean light, windswept palm trees, snow-capped Alps and quieter rhythm of the city reveal a side of the French Riviera that feels both powerful and deeply intimate.
Returning to the same stretch of coastline each morning, familiar landmarks gradually transformed from observation into memory. Rather than depicting a single view, I reassembled the architecture, landscape and atmosphere into a composition that captures the feeling of moving through a place rather than documenting a specific moment.
Painted in acrylic and mixed media with hand-painted collage elements, Morning Rollerblade Views celebrates the graphic beauty of Nice through bold shapes, layered textures and luminous colour. It is a contemporary original landscape painting inspired by the Mediterranean coast and one of my daily rituals of exploring the city at sunrise.
