Before I could paint, I learned how to draw. From a very young age, I was taught art through the classical fine arts methods passed on for centuries in Europe, focusing on proportion, perspective and draughtsmanship - learning, at six years old, alongside students at the Fine Arts University of Bucharest. After hours of producing technically correct, academic drawings, I would take a fresh piece of paper, and re-do what I just did, without thinking or filters - led by instinct. I always preferred the result of this spontaneous, gestural art better...it seemed more energetic and less considered. Less thinking, more feeling. This collection is a selection of drawings and sketches of places and people around the world, drawn with heart and in the moment.
This black and white art collection is a selection of sketches, illustrations, and drawings in various mediums (pencil, pen, ink, marker) that I created over the past decades while travelling or living abroad. A monochrome selection of portrait drawings, skylines, cities, architecture or landscape drawings in black and white: wall art that will infuse your wall decor with elegant, timeless aesthetic drawn with heart and pure, unfiltered instinct.
If you'd like to combine black and white wall art with more colourful framed art prints, canvas prints or posters, check out the Colourful collection.
