Paloma's View, Paloma Beach | Framed Art Print

(5.0)

Those who know, know.

Inspired by many summers spent at Paloma Beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Paloma's View is a contemporary framed art print celebrating one of the most iconic coastal panoramas on the French Riviera. Beyond the quiet bay, gleaming white superyachts, sailboats and catamarans gather offshore, while stand-up paddleboarders, swimmers and beachgoers create a gentle choreography across the blue Mediterranean throughout the summer. The result is a timeless celebration of European summer, Riviera landscapes and life by the sea.

Reproduced from my original mixed-media painting, this contemporary Mediterranean landscape print combines acrylic painting with hand-painted paper collage to create a striking balance of graphic simplicity, layered textures and expansive Mediterranean blues. The crisp collage elements bring rhythm and depth to the composition, echoing the clean geometry of the boats against the organic movement of the clouds and coastline.

Whether it reminds you of summers on the Côte d'Azur, afternoons watching yachts from the beach or the timeless beauty of Paloma Beach, Paloma's View brings the calm, colour and elegance of the French Riviera into your home. Framed and ready to hang.

Inspirations

Paloma's View was inspired by many summers spent at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and one of the most remarkable cross sections of the French Riviera. What fascinates me most is the way the landscape unfolds in layers. From the beach, your eye travels from sunbathers and swimmers to stand-up paddleboarders, floating air mattresses and waders, then out towards anchored superyachts, sailboats and catamarans before finally reaching the dramatic cliffs of Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Èze, with Monaco and the Italian coastline disappearing into the distance beyond.

I return to this bay again and again because it never looks the same twice. Hundreds of boats gently turn with the wind, towering clouds reshape the horizon and the changing Mediterranean light transforms the atmosphere throughout the day. Rather than painting one specific moment, I wanted to preserve the pleasure of sitting there for hours, watching life unfold across one of the French Riviera's most iconic panoramas.

Creative Process

Although inspired by a real place, Paloma's View is not a documentary of one particular day or one particular view. It is a carefully constructed reinterpretation that brings together observations gathered over many visits to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, combining different seasons, weather conditions and moments into a single Mediterranean seascape. The composition was intentionally reconstructed to emphasize the calm horizontality of the yachts, sailboats and paddleboard against the organic movement of the clouds and dramatic cliffs, creating a dialogue between stillness and energy.

Swimming, stand-up paddling and sketching by the water became an essential part of the process. Back in the studio, I developed the painting in acrylic on canvas before refining it with hand-painted paper collage, introducing subtle graphic accents beneath the paddleboard and on the superyacht. These individually cut collage elements create rhythm, texture and depth while reinforcing the balance between organic forms, clean geometry and the layered beauty of the French Riviera.
