Inspirations

This monochrome architectural drawing came to life during a road trip I took along Portugal's Atlantic coast, driving down from Lisbon to the southern region of Algarve. As we explored the coastal landscapes, fishing villages and small Portugese towns, Tavira, a charming riverside town on the Algarve coast, stood out to me. The town, with its rich history, faded beauty and the Gilão River flowing through it, became a true inspiration for this artwork.

This illustration was sparked by a visual moment I had in Tavira’s historic center, where I discovered a slightly weathered but beautiful blue house after a long, relaxing lunch in the sun. The graphic architectural details and the interplay between curves and circles captured my attention. I wanted to convey the striking dance of geometric shapes and graphic lines that to me conveyed timeless modernity and an elegant feel of lived in elements: a perfect balance.
