Inspirations

The creative inspiration for this black and white abstract art print first came to me on my birthday, while I was on an early morning run in a small town in Europe. The old town was quiet, I had sea salt in my hair, and I could hear the sounds of birds and the sea behind me, while smelling fresh bread being baked. It was total bliss, and felt an overflowing, magnificent sense of gratitude and wonder. As I turned my head, my eyes fell on this quote, which was handwritten on a wall. It instantly captured my attention because it mirrored how I felt in that moment: as if I was indeed living in a beautiful dream, filled with wonder, beauty and discovery. I remembered one of my yoga teachers, Rose, in Bali, telling us to go forth to live a "magical life"...and I realized that with clear intent and living from the heart, this dream manifested into my reality, only a few years later. I felt like this inspiring message was a sign for me that I was on the right path. I later found out that this beautiful quote was first written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a French writer who wrote one of my favourite stories, "The Little Prince".
