I explored Lake Como on foot, by boat and train, travelling from MilanAlong my travels in this incredibly beautiful northern Italian region, my
sketchbook was a constant companion.

This black and white Lake Como artwork is my interpretation, in one image, of the essence of many breathtaking snapshots imprinted in my heart, condensed into a few key elements: towns and villas dotting the hills with fluffy white clouds suspended above, their reflections mirrored in the crystal clear lakes.

Above all, it is an artful homage to the elegant Italian villas, their seamless integration with the surrounding nature, and crisp, clean mountain
air, fresh windy breezes, concentrated beauty and a feeling of wellbeing and wonder. Grazie, Lago di Como.

Creative Process

The first step in the creation of this Italy landscape art print was, of course, travelling to the Lombardy region, exploring Milan and the famous Lake Como towns by boat and on foot.

During my travels, I sketched the charming towns, natural scenery, traditional Italian architecture, villas and landscapes in my travel journal, and took too many picture-perfect photos to count.

When I returned home, I hand drew the final black and white landscape artwork using an ink pen on large premium art paper. I photographed the final composition, enhanced the details, lines and monochrome contrasts to ensure its reproduction into a high quality canvas art print, ready to hang on your walls and bring these dolce vita scenery to your home decor.
