My first trip to Portugal was a visual assault (the good kind) of vivid colours, graphic patterns, assertive shapes and a mix of traditional, modern and urban art, craftsmanship and design. My second Portugal trip was also filled with a colourful overdose of Portugese art, but balanced out with wild, natural landscapes in the South.
In the cities I was hypnotized by sidewalk mosaics, azulejo tiles, architectural details, and so much personality painted on every surface. In nature I let the Atlantic Ocean winds and coastlines to wash over me and put me to zen. This is a country that takes wall art (literally) to a whole new level. My Portugal art collection is an eclectic mix of traditional Portugese design and contemporary art, travel sketches, architectural drawings, city drawings, paintings, pattern art, graphic design and collage art: my spin on, and interpretation of the unique blend of beauty and character that is Portugal.
