Inspirations

When I was little, I grew up in a country in Eastern Europe where travel was restricted. We substituted physical travel with voracious reading, which opened up my imagination to worlds I could only dream of. Later on in my life, when I was able to travel to the places I read about as a kid and experience them for myself, my dreams started to take form.

This detailed air balloon illustration was inspired by imagination, incredible stories of bravery, and travels in the sky. The Dreamer artwork is about having your head in the clouds, dreaming up stories, ideas and adventures before you make them a reality. Just because you can't see something yet does not mean it doesn't exist.

Inspired by Jules Verne's avant-garde tales of sky exploration and my own travel adventures in Turkey, Argentina, France, Colombia and elsewhere, seeing the world from new and different angles, and exploring roads less travelled. This abstract vintage art print is about all the amazing possibilities that exist just beyond our imagination.

I drew the intricate pattern on large matte paper using black ink, and the air balloons on separate paper. I then used decoupage to isolate the balloons and collage them onto the landscape art pattern, creating a detailed yet abstract collage. As a final step, I digitally enhanced the colours and contrasts to ensure a premium quality art print reproduction for your wall decor.
