This Budapest city art print came to life after an inspiring trip to Hungary, where I feasted on an eclectic mix of art, architecture and design by walking the streets of the city, wandering around museums, strolling along beautiful avenues and little side streets, basking in thermal baths, and the ultimate highlight: a night-time boat tour along the Danube river, witnessing this beautiful European city at night - a magical experience I will never forget.

Creative Process

My travel sketchbook was with me during every step of my travels to Budapest. At every coffee or strudel stop, I would quickly sketch and draw streetscapes, landscapes buildings, people and architectural details that inspired me.

After my trip, I returned home to my art studio and drew this night city scape, with its beautiful and intricate architectural details, using pencil, pen, ink and black marker on large art paper. As a final step, I photographed the original artwork and digitally edited the details, contrasts, shading and highlights to enable its reproduction into a high quality art print.
