Inspired by years of returning to Le Plongeoir, La Réserve, and Coco Beach in Nice, France, this artwork is a reflection of a place that has stayed with me long after I left it. In every season, these familiar shores have become part of my own story—from summer days spent watching cliff jumpers dive into the Mediterranean to winter walks around Cap de Nice on the way to Villefranche-sur-Mer. Over time, the shimmering light on the water, the iconic diving board, and the timeless charm of Breton stripes became more than memories—they became the feeling of endless Côte d'Azur summers and the effortless elegance of French Riviera style. Creative Process

This artwork was inspired by years of walking along the French Riviera, returning time and again to Le Plongeoir, La Réserve, and Coco Beach in Nice. The shimmering Mediterranean light, the iconic diving board, and the rhythm of cliff jumpers gradually transformed from a familiar landscape into a feeling, a memory, and a sensory experience. Those impressions first took shape as sketches on paper before evolving into an acrylic painting on canvas.

Once the painting was complete, I brought the graphic elements to life using hand-painted paper collage. The striped swimsuit and shimmering water reflections were painted on paper, carefully cut by hand with an X-Acto knife, and meticulously assembled onto the canvas, adding texture, depth, and a handcrafted finish to the final composition.
