This colourful travel art print was inspired by slow living along the French Riviera and the Italian Rivieras, where the Mediterranean shorelines are lined with beach clubs, yachts, sailboats, striped beach umbrellas, oversized hats, and beautiful stylish people, blue and white beach clubs and the perfect mix of relaxation and socializing: from St. Tropez to the Amalfi Coast, glamour, beauty and relaxed vacation vibes are enhanced by lazy summer breezes, and slow-moving sailboats from dawn to sunrise. 

It’s where you go to slow down, walk along the shorelines and people-watch, yacht-gaze and spot the white sailboats, sipping rosé or Aperol Spritz ... in quintessential marinière style, of course. 

I asked myself: if the Riviera was a person, what would she look like? And this is my modern art interpretation of the glamour, beauty, colours and vibe of these beautiful Mediterranean destinations.

Creative Process

This colourful beach artwork was hand drawn using pencil, ink and marker on fine art paper, mixed with acrylic painting for the larger colour blocked zones. The final artwork was photographed and digitally edited to enhance the colours, contrasts and highlights, allowing it to be reproduced into a high quality art print with a wooden frame.
