This abstract landscape series was inspired by waterfront living, moving and relaxation in Montreal, Canada. From the urban beach in Old Montreal overlooking the St Lawrence River to the Lachine Canal rapids where surfers surf overlooking the downtown skyline, to running, biking and rollerblading on the canal, down to the beaches of Verdun and stand up paddling in Lachine, or kayaking around Atwater Market. It's about sunrise and sunset yoga sessions in the city's many urban parks and lakes, and basking in the lush greenery that only lasts a few months but is always filled with surprises, activities, fun and zen.

Creative Process

This abstract artwork was hand painted with gouache and acrylic paint on paper, and then layered painted paper cutout shapes on top in a mixed media collage.
