Inspirations

Inspired by my travels to beautiful destinations in and around Greece, from its paradise islands to mainland cities, I wanted to create a modern and graphic art work that referenced the folklore of its ancient mythology, rich cultural history, and also captured a sense of the Mediterranean's pristine beauty, endless blue seas, skies and carefree vacation aesthetic in a fun series of beachy art.

I was travelling around Greece for the third time, lazily taking in all the blue of the sea, sky, and architecture around me. I had been reading Greek mythology since I was a little girl, and had always been fascinated by the powerful stories, legends, and Mount Olympus, the lost Atlantis kindgdom, and the fact that their gods were almost like real people. Each time I returned to different parts of Greece, some things stayed consistent: blue, white, endless skies and sea, beauty, crisp lines and light wonderful people, a sense of humour, and a rich history. I tried to simplify the spirit of these experiences into artwork that is minimalist, fun, light and makes you smile. And also, dream of your next trip.
