The inspirational words were hand painted on paper, then cut out using a decoupage technique, and re-assembled in an abstract modern art poster of hidden messages on top of which rests a fish - significant of its rich symbolism of freedom, curiosity and consciousness.

Inspirations

The creative inspiration for this modern manifesting abstract art print came to me on my birthday, while I was on an early morning run in a small town in Europe. The old town was quiet, I had sea salt in my hair, and I could hear the sounds of birds and the sea behind me, while smelling fresh bread being baked. It was total bliss, and felt an overflowing, magnificent sense of gratitude and wonder. As I turned my head, my eyes fell on this quote, which was handwritten on a wall. It instantly captured my attention because it mirrored how I felt in that moment: as if I was indeed living in a beautiful dream, filled with wonder, beauty and discovery. I remembered one of my yoga teachers, Rose, in Bali, telling us to go forth to live a "magical life"...and I realized that with clear intent and living from the heart, this dream manifested into my reality, only a few years later. I felt like this inspiring message was a sign for me that I was on the right path. I later found out that this beautiful quote was first written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a French writer who wrote one of my favourite stories, "The Little Prince".

Creative Process

This abstract typographic artwork was originally painted wit black ink and paint on paper. First, I handpainted the beautiful inspirational quote, then I used an exacto knife to create paper cutouts of each painted word. I then re-arranged the versions I liked and created a large minimalist wall art collage composition on painted canvas. In the process, I put all the unused words I had painted and cut out in a pile in my art studio as I was working. When I finished the original painted canvas, I discovered the beauty of the hidden message in the pile of discarded words, in a minimalist mess and I loved that the message was hidden inside, not quite so obvious yet the essence of "vie / life" and "rêve / dream" still came forth through the energy of the contrasts, placement and abstract composition. The intention and message was felt in this black and white typographic abstraction. I photographed it, transferred it digitally into designer software, edited it, and now it is living as a minimalist art poster you can hang, ready to inspire any home decor, room or wall, bringing the inspirational message into the life of your dreams.
