Inspirations

My inspiration for this sailing travel poster is a culmination of years spent living and travelling along the beautiful blue Mediterranean sea. I have
explored so many beautiful destinations around the Med on foot, by boat, train, car, camping car, electric bike and airplane, in every season, weather
condition, and time of day.

More recently, I spent over three years in the South Of France, more specifically, on the Côte d'Azur, waking up at sunrise with the sun and distant
sails keeping me company on my runs, walks and hikes along its magical blue vastness.

The sea is ever changing, always fluid,
unpredictable and powerful. The two things that never change are its unparalleled, breathtaking beauty, and the sight of white sailboats in the
distance, wherever you are. In this abstract nautical art print, I wanted to express the perpetually shifting moods of the sea, while also keeping the
tranquil essence and mass of its awe-inducing blue-ness.

Creative Process

I created this abstract nautical art print using a mix of fine arts techniques and materials. First, I hand drew the geometric pattern and composition using pencil on paper. I used a combination of watercolours, pastels and acrylic paint on paper and then painted the final artwork on canvas, layering acrylic paint and pastels to add textures, shading and depth to the artwork. As a final step, I photographed the original canvas and digitally fine-tuned the details and enhanced the colour contrasts so that this art work could be beautifully transferred and reproduced onto a contemporary aluminum art print.
