Inspirations

New York City has a rich and nuanced history of creativity , innovation, design, street art, graffiti, and grit. Above all, an avant-garde energy and spirit that has influenced artists and creators from every discipline around the world.

NYC has inspired me since I was little in my art, and later, in my illustration and design work: its boldness, creativity, modernity, innovation and unparalleled dynamism feed me with inspiration and energy that I, in turn, pour into my creative output.

In this graphic artwork, I wanted the collage medium to reflect the layers and richness of its cultural fabric, as well as creating something modern, bold and timeless - art imitating the spirit of its subject.

I hope this New York print finds a happy place in your home, bringing you inspiration for your future travels and souvenirs of your time spent, or lived in this incredible city.

Processus créatif

Hand crafted using a unique combination of drawing, collage and mixed media art techniques, each detail is meticulously rendered to evoke a sense of urban sophistication and a contemporary design aesthetic.

This graphic New York print uses a mix of hand illustration, painting in black ink on paper and paper decoupage. Working from reference sketches I made throughout my many travels to NYC, I conceived the final composition by remixing and editing the drawn and cutout components into a final collage that plays with negative and positive space, blending illustration, photography and paper shapes to arrive at this final mixed-media art collage composition.

As a final step I scanned it and digitally enhanced the contrasts and highlights, ensuring its reproduction into a rich-toned, sharp contrast premium quality New York poster for your wall decor.
